On Wednesday, March 7, 2012 TFP Student Action joined a group of faithful Catholics, including alumni and former benefactors of Madonna University, in a prayerful protest of the leadership of the Felician Sisters over their selection of Fr. Michael Crosby, OFM Cap. to lead a weeklong retreat for the sisters residing in Livonia, Michigan.1
Fr. Crosby is well known as an outspoken advocate of a host of positions at odds with the Catholic doctrine, particularly in the areas of priestly celibacy,2 homosexuality,3 and the hierarchical nature of the Catholic Church.
Lining the public street adjoining the entrance to the university, local Catholics recited the rosary, sung hymns and braved high winds while displaying signs that read: “God’s Marriage = 1 Man + 1 Woman.” “Fidelity: Yes -- Dissent: No,” “Fr. Crosby is a wolf in sheep’s clothing,” and “Restore Madonna’s Catholic Identity.”

Once again, the march served to show that Americans oppose the sin of abortion. In opposition to the several hundred thousand pro-lifers, there were a scant handful of “pro-choice” activists (read anti-life). In spite of rain and frigid temperatures, approximately 350,000 people converged on Washington to pray and fight for the end of abortion.

Abortion Advocacy Groups at 6 Catholic Universities

According to the Catholic Boston College web site:
Analogous pro-abortion groups can be found at other Catholic universities, including DePaul University, Fordham University, Georgetown University, Santa Clara University and Seattle University.
The term “reproductive justice” is itself a mockery of justice, for it seeks not to respect, but to abolish true justice. Real justice bestows upon all the right to life, which abortion denies and tramples. The promotion of “contraception” and “choice issues” simply contribute to the total abolition of respect for innocent human life.
Also troubling is the “global family planning” agenda, the tragic results of which are playing out in China, where more than 13 million abortions – and many forced abortions – take place each year.
More than just advocating abortion on a remote web site, Students for Reproductive Justice actively promote the culture of death. Law students at Fordham, for instance, take part in “an ongoing escort program in partnership with Planned Parenthood.” Other activities include: “a research partnership with local pro-choice legal organizations,” and “brownbags with reproductive rights activists.” At DePaul University in Chicago, Law Students for Reproductive Justice are recognized as an official student organization with a professorial advisor.
It seems almost incomprehensible that such things, so blatantly against the law of God and nature, could be tolerated in any Catholic setting.
Why are these pro-abortion groups given free reign on these Catholic campuses? How much funding do they receive to promote abortion under the false pretense of “justice”?
Please support the timeless teachings of the Church, and the restoration of Catholic education. The abortion elephant in the Catholic classroom must be expelled.

Homosexual Advocacy Clubs Growing on Catholic Campuses
A review of the web sites of 244 Catholic colleges and universities nationwide last week revealed that 107 of them — 43 percent — have homosexual advocacy clubs on campuses.
Three years ago, a review conducted by the same group, the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP), revealed that 96 Catholic colleges had such clubs.
“Pro-homosexual lobby groups focus lots of effort on influencing the youth,” noted TFP Student Action Director John Ritchie. “Too many Catholic bishops are silent, sadly. The culture in general (laws, movies, Hollywood, Lady Gaga, etc.) is relentless in pushing to mainstream the homosexual lifestyle.”
The clubs don’t just celebrate homosexual orientation; they often promote behaviors and policies that directly contradict the teachings of the Catholic Church, such as same-sex marriage.
As a result, TFP has launched a petition drive, hoping to gather 100,000 signatures asking the presidents of the universities to uphold Catholic doctrine by disbanding the clubs. In six days, 17,803 signatures have been gathered.
”I have no intention to disparage anyone,” the petition reads. “I only wish to restore moral values and protect the next generation of Catholic leaders.”
