SOUTH ORANGE, New Jersey, April 1, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A course at the Catholic Seton Hall University on the history of same-sex “marriage” taught by a gay rights supporter will continue in the Fall 2011 semester after being offered on an experimental basis.

The course, entitled Politics of Gay Marriage, is taught by W. K. Mott, who is openly homosexual and has in the past been demoted at Seton Hall for expressing disagreement with the Church’s teaching on sexual morality. Students interviewed by the student newspaper The Setonian praised the class.

Seton Hall University is allowing a pro-homosexual professor to teach about “The Politics of Gay Marriage.”

When plans for the anti-Catholic course were first announced the Most Reverend John J. Myers, Archbishop of Newark, responded. “This proposed course seeks to promote as legitimate a train of thought that is contrary to what the Church teaches. As a result, the course is not in synch with Catholic teaching.”

However, despite the archbishop’s objections the course has started.

Apparently, classes on "The Politics of Gay Marriage" commenced at Seton Hall University, a Catholic diocesan university. Although the local bishop spoke out against it, the course seems to have started yesterday. Thus far, university officials are being rather secretive about divulging any information on this topic.

I am hoping the archbishop will take some measures and protect his flock at Seton Hall University from the homosexual movement's attempt to undermine Catholic education.

According to an article published by The Setonian on April 15, a course on homosexual “marriage” will be offered next semester at Seton Hall University, a Catholic university in New Jersey with approximately 10,000 students.

Here is the red flag:

The course will be taught by Professor King Mott, a pro-homosexual activist whose biography, posted on Seton Hall’s web site, mentions his affiliation with Lambda Legal, Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies, and Human Rights Campaign -- groups that promote ideas that run contrary to Catholic moral teaching.
