Will CPAC 'Big Tent' Survive the Leak? Clip of press conference re "don't ask, don't tell"

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), held this year on February 18-20 in Washington D.C. is the largest annual conservative conference in the United States, with no fewer than 10,000 intellectuals, politicians, organizations, students and activists in attendance.

It is a window into the heart and soul of the American conservative movement. The issues that are discussed, the speeches that are delivered, the flyers that are distributed, the debates that are held; all hold significant sway over the general direction of the conservative movement and therefore America as a whole.

Planned Parenthood DELETED

Rosemont College sign

TFP Student Action is glad to announce that Rosemont College – a Catholic institution – has removed Planned Parenthood from its web site, where it was listed under “career paths and opportunities.”

The listing was pulled less than 24-hours after the TFP launched its online protest, which generated over 2,500 emails and personal letters urging the president of Rosemont College, Mrs. Sharon Latchaw Hirsh, PhD, to remove the mention of Planned Parenthood.

“It’s a shame the listing was there to begin with, but I’m glad it was quickly taken down,” said TFP Student Action director John Ritchie. “Catholic colleges should be champions of virtue and staunch defenders of innocent life.”

TFP Student Action volunteers are grateful to everyone who participated in this effort.

May God bless you and reward you!

Loss of faith at Catholic colleges

Catholic students who attend Catholic colleges and universities in the US are more likely to move away from the faith than to deepen their commitment, a new study shows.

The study found that 32% of Catholic students at Catholic schools attend Mass less frequently by the time they graduate, while only 7% attend more frequently. Roughly 8% of the graduates reported leaving the Catholic faith during their college years, while students who had entered the Catholic Church during their college years accounted for only 4% of the graduates. The survey found a strong trend away from accord with Church teachings on issues such as abortion and same-sex unions. The new study by Georgetown's Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) largely confirms previous reports from the Cardinal Newman Society calling attention to a "crisis in Catholic higher education." “Catholics should be alarmed by the significant declines in Catholic practice and fidelity at many of America’s Catholic institutions,” said Patrick Reilly, the resident of The Cardinal Newman Society. The authors of the CARA report agreed: “Regardless of where students begin their college journey, Catholic colleges should be helping students move closer to Christ, and certainly doing a better job of moving students toward the Catholic faith than secular colleges do.”

Why does Fr. Jenkins refuse to dialogue with pro-lifers?

Father John I. Jenkins, President of the University of Notre Dame, defines himself as a man of dialogue. This is why he invited President Obama to deliver the graduation speech at that Catholic university and granted him the title of Doctor Honoris Causa, in spite of his clearly pro-abortion position.

Dialogue: “acts of courtesy and gestures of respect”
